This course opens for enrollment on November 1, 2023 and closes on November 30th, 2023.

Cultural competencies are essential when interpreting between people of varying cultures within healthcare settings. It is important to recognize how cultural differences impact the interpreting needs. This webshop provides an overview of structures of oppression and privilege using the theory of kyriarchy. It also discusses intersectionality within the Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing communities. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Define structures of oppression and privilege.
  • Use a Privilege Wheel to unpack their privilege which will lead to better understanding of self.
  • Explore how lived experiences impact a Deaf, DeafBlind, or hard of hearing individuals ability to access healthcare settings.

Access to these modules are free.


The webshop will become available to enroll on November 1st and remain open until November 30th

Webshops are offered on demand once opened.

All our self-directed tracks are open enrollment which means it is not limited to a specific number of participants.

To be eligible for CEUs you must complete the pre-assessment, watch all the videos, complete self-reflection activities and quizzes, and complete the post-assessment by 11:59pm on November 30th.
